Karen Foster Design: Halloween Letters

Click on any photo for a closer look.

I have been having a ton of fun decorating these letters for one of my very favorite places to shop in Fishers, Best of What's Around. This set features papers from Karen Foster Design and some adorable stickers I found in a local supercenter. I love that every set of letters I make is unique!

While the first set of letters was whimsical and juvenile, this set definitely has that retro flair! They also feature papers and stickers from Karen Foster Design in a horror movie poster theme. I added little touches such as filmstrip ribbon and tiny tickets to carry through the theme.

Please send me a message if you'd like to own your very own set of decorated letters. I can create them for most holidays, sports, hobbies, or themes.

Karen Foster Design: School

Today is the first day of school in our town,  so I though today would be perfect to share Karen Foster Design's new school collection mixed with other school products they currently carry. Click on any photo to get a closer look!

I seriously can't stand how cute Matthew looks in this photo! It was taken on his first day of 4-year-old preschool. He was such a cool dude, even that young! I LOVED mixing together brand-new school KFD products with olders ones for this layout.

There are papers for preschool-5th grade this year with matching stickers. I used the notebook paper and punched a "torn" border on the left side to give it a more traditional look. The Stacked Statement makes a perfect title! I simply trimmed it in half so I could make the title fit the space that was available on my layout. I used stickers in several places and even added Rub-bits to look like doodling in the corners of the notebook paper.

Karen Foster Design: Zoo

I'm back today with another new scrapbook collection by Karen Foster Design. Today, it's a zoo around here! Be sure to click on any photo for a closer look!

I used several papers in this collection as well as the Zoo Stacked Statement. I just love all the texture they have! I also strung together several colors of Scrappers Spools with Crazy Coils to create a banner of sorts. The baby chimp was dangling from a net, so I carried the idea along in my scrapping products.

Next up is a thank you card with a zoo theme. I created a bit of a shadow box feel by die cutting a label-shaped hole and mounting the entire panel up on foam adhesive.

The Stacked Sticker and Scrappers Spools have a special place right in the center to shine!
For the inside of the card I used more paper, a few stickers, and a sentiment stamp.

My final zoo project is a decorated gift bag. The giraffe sticker with his long neck needed a special place to hang out, so I created a die cut panel of cardstock as his home. Layered papers, a sticker title, and Scrappers Spools tied to the bag handle make this a unique gift wrapping.

Be sure to check out Karen Foster Design for all their zoo products and other new summer CHA releases!

Karen Foster Design: Christmas in July!

Today I'm starting a series of posts that share projects I made using some of the new summer CHA lines from Karen Foster Design. Today is Christmas in July!

Please click on any photo for a closer look.

First up is this layout. I sliced and diced two different papers to make the background and featured the adorable Stacked Statement across the center.

Probably my two favorite things about Karen Foster Design products are any type of brads and their Stacked line of products. Here I added a red Birthstone Brad and one Playful Swirl Dot Brad (I call them the candy brads!) I also added the tree sticker on the end with some foam adhesive.

On the other side of the title you can see the glittered letters and flocked Santa hat. I added the gingerbread boy and another Birthstone Brad. I just love those things!

Next is this Christmas card. On the outside it appears to be a simple card with cardstock bands and a Sticker sentiment. But the surprise is waiting inside....

This card has a pop-up Santa and sleigh! He's loaded down with toys and has even scattered some toys on the "floor" of this card. Behind him in the distance is a forest of snowy trees cut from papers in this collection. Pop up cards are my new obsession, and I had a blast creating this little scene.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Here in Indy we celebrate St. Patrick's Day all weekend! We "greened the canal" earlier in the week, we also held a parade and a race. Tonight we're headed downtown for some family events including Shamrockin' the Circle. Everyone's Irish this weekend!

Today I'm sharing a card I made using two of my favorite companies. The background paper and stickers are from Karen Foster Design. The gorgeous Celtic-inspired knots are from the myStamp BOX set called Graphic Borders. I embossed using myStamp BOX's new embossing powders, available soon. The sentiment is from the set called Whatever.

May your blessings outnumber
The shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go.

Karen Foster Design: Mother's Day Card

Here's my first post of the week with ideas for making Mother's Day cards. I used paper and stickers from Karen Foster Design's new Mother collection. And yes, I DID use glittery fibers wrapped around my sentiment sticker just like a feather boa. What mom wouldn't deserve that?

We will announce the winners on the myStamp BOX blog and Faber-Castell blog on Monday, March 26th. Good Luck!

Here is what I made using products from Faber-Castell and myStamp BOX:

I received Faber-Castell's Mixed Media Sampler with metallic shades of gold and silver. I rubbed the creamy Gelatos across brown cardstock, highlighting the texture with each scribble. These luscious acid-free pigment sticks glide on vibrant color and blend beautifully with or without water. The metallics work especially well on dark papers!

I stamped the animal print pattern from myStampBOX's Graphic Border set and heat-embossed in gold. I added a little faux stitching with Faber-Castell's silver PITT artist pen. This pen is made with professional-quality odorless India ink that won’t bleed through your projects, and is waterproof, lightfast and archival. The sentiment came from the Whatever! stamp set.

Now it’s time to HOP along and find out what the next talented designer has created. Your next designer is the fabulous Rita from Faber-Castell . Don’t forget to leave a comment below for a chance to WIN one of our three product giveaways!

First up, Hockey!! Our family LOVES hockey, and we enjoy going to local games. Our council of Boy Scouts here in Indiana holds a Scout Night with the Indiana Ice every year where the boys are encouraged to wear their uniforms. After the game they are given a chance to walk down onto the ice and shoot some pucks, how exciting! This year both of my boys went, and it was a blast of a night. They made sure I got a photo of the Ice's mascot Big-E-Foot, too. You can see all the interesting patterns on the new papers and stickers. I mixed in an awesome Contemporary Corner Brad and Bubble Brads as well. (Click on any photo for a closer look.)

Here's a quick look at one area of the layout. One hockey stick is printed on the patterned paper. I layered the photo block on top, added an exact-match hockey stick sticker that's pointed in the other direction, and placed a Bubble Brad on top. I love that the stickers and papers coordinate for techniques like this!

What do you REALLY need at a hockey game? Something that makes you LOUDER!! Our boys have cowbells just like these that they love to ring when cheering on the home team. I bought an extra one and decorated it with stickers and images cut from Hockey patterned papers. I tied on a little Scrappers Spools for fun. The card has several images cut from papers, stickers layered with pop dots, and the Hockey Lil' Stack.

Next up, Curling! I had to call in my Canadian pal, Jeanette, to rustle up some photos for me. Thanks, Nette! I cut a large circle from one patterned paper to mimic the curling stone and scoring ring.

Again, I layered my sticker title block with LOTS of embellishments including some Double O Pizzazz Brads in black.

I also upscaled an oversized notepad holder I bought at a dollar store. I covered it, inside and out, with Curling papers and stickers. I even covered the pencil!
Thanks for stopping by to see my Hockey and Curling collection projects. For more of these and some from the new Prom collection, visit all our designer blogs for more inspiration. Of course I got the Brothers collection! No, I didn't take these photos to match the paper. I lucked out and found a snapshot of the boys from 2009 that had exactly the right colors! I used papers and stickers from this collection as well as Scrappers Spools, Crazy Coil Brads, Swirl Burst Brads, and a Bubbles Fancy Frame. (Click on any photo for a closer look.)

Aren't these embellishments just awesome? I ♥ Swirl Burst Brads!!

I also made a card using this collection. You've gotta love the extra guitar on there!

Next up - Twins! There are adorable patterns in this collection, the stripes and dots are my favorite. Here's a card using critters cut from one patterned paper and many of the KFD embellishments I use often.

I also decorated a mirror using the Twins collection. Special thanks to my pal, Shavaughn, our DT coordinator at KFD for both of these Twins project photos! She edited out the portion in the center of the mirror so you could concentrate on the decorations. It was fun to use the papers, stickers, and embellishments on a project like this!

Thanks for stopping by to see my Brothers and Twins collection projects. For more of these and some from the new Sisters collection, visit all our designer blogs for more inspiration. Be sure to leave a comment on any post where you love the collection - you will be entered to win that prize pack. Good luck!

Today we are featuring our new Military collection. I was honored to make this album for my friend Marti and her husband Major Bruce Drake. I suspended the dog tag stickers from our Classy Loopy Bradlines (metallic finish) using Scrapper Spools. (Click on any photo for a closer look.)

You can see the dimension on the dog tags here more closely. They are lifted using pop dots.

I used every single paper and sticker from this collection on the mini album, changing up the focus and placement of the products depending on their importance.

Here I added a few Jumbo Coil Brads for decoration.

I repeated the use of dog tags on this page but used a real ball chain and clasp.

I love including personal notes and ephemera on layouts and in mini albums, and our String Enclosure Treasure Keepers are perfect for that. My ten year old son wrote a personal thank you note to Major Drake, and we tucked it inside the pocket.

Thanks for stopping by to see my Military collection project. For more of these please visit all our designer blogs for inspiration. Be sure to leave a comment on any post where you love the collection - you will be entered to win that prize pack. Good luck!

One week from today we'll gather the names of four lucky folks who left comments throughout our CHA sneak peek event. Each person will receive a bonus prize pack of five stamp sets! Here are just a few projects that I have made using KFD stamps. (Click any photo for a closer look.)

This reindeer card and Santa (below) were made using the Holiday Clear Stamp Set. Santa's beard and hat trim were stamped onto felt for fun texture. Look closely - I even made him some tiny wire glasses!

You've gotta love baby cards! Both of these cards were stamped using the Baby Clear Stamp set. The little girl has an outfit that was stamped onto fuzzy felt and embellished with some bling. Stamping on kraft paper and using Prismacolor pencils was a great way to get rich color on the baby boy card.

This layout features the Hope Strength Courage Clear Stamp Set. I stamped the "Survivor" sentiment right on the bottom photo and the patterned heart on the grosgrain ribbon.

My final stamped project to share today highlights the Thanksgiving Clear Stamp Set. I loved creating my own background paper to color as well as stamped twill ribbon.

For more stamped projects please visit all our designer blogs for inspiration. Be sure to leave a comment on any post - you will be entered to win the bonus stamp sets. Good luck!
